Lion's Mane Latte

Lion's Mane Latte

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot of espresso (about 1 ounce) OR 1/2 cup of strongly brewed coffee
  • 1 cup of milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • Sugar or sweetener (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Lion's Mane mushroom powder
  • Flavorings such as vanilla extract or syrup (optional)
  • Cocoa powder or cinnamon for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Espresso or Coffee: If you have an espresso machine, brew a shot of espresso. If you don't have an espresso machine, you can make a strong cup of coffee using your preferred brewing method, such as a French press, Moka pot, or AeroPress.
  2. Steam the Milk: If you have a milk steamer or frother, use it to steam the milk until it reaches a creamy and frothy texture. If you don't have a steamer, you can heat the milk on the stovetop or in the microwave until it's hot but not boiling, then use a whisk or a handheld frother to froth the milk manually.
  3. Mix in the Lion's Mane Powder: Once the milk is hot, slowly mix in the Lion's Mane mushroom powder with whisk or frother. Stir well to combine, ensuring the powder is dissolved into the milk.
  4. Add Sweetener and Flavorings (Optional): If you like your latte sweetened or flavored, add sugar, syrup, or flavorings such as vanilla extract to the milk and stir well.
  5. Pour the Espresso or Coffee into a Mug: Pour the freshly brewed espresso or coffee into a mug.
  6. Pour in the Steamed Milk: Slowly pour the steamed milk into the mug with the espresso or coffee, holding back the foam with a spoon if you prefer more foam on top.
  7. Top with Foam (Optional): Spoon any remaining foam on top of the latte for an extra creamy and luxurious texture.
  8. Garnish (Optional): Sprinkle cocoa powder or cinnamon on top of the foam for a decorative touch and added flavor.
  9. Serve and Enjoy: Your homemade latte is ready to be enjoyed! Sip and savor the creamy goodness.

Feel free to adjust the ratios of espresso to milk according to your taste preferences. With a little practice, you can create barista-quality lattes right in your own kitchen!
